All NSW Alarm System clients are monitored by our monitoring partner Yates Security which is Australias largest monitoring station. It is responsible for the surveillance of approx. 100,000 home and business premises.
Yates Security (Accredited NSW Government Security Services Provider) had its genesis in the security industry 107 years ago, when in 1900 Thomas Yates retired from the NSW Police Force and founded the business.
The initial services were foot patrols providing protection for residents and businesses around the Sydney's Rocks and CBD areas.
Through all the intervening years up to the present day, Yates Security has remained at the forefront of the security industry.
Yates Security established a non-stop alarm monitoring facility in 1973, to provide clients with 24-hour back-to-base monitoring and rapid response to alarm conditions.
Our Security Control Centre supports clients over sophisticated network links and is manned 24 hours a day by experienced operators.
All types of data can be transmitted to the Security Control Centre, including computer alarms and their location within premises, equipment failures, opening / closing of remote sites, client and user identification.
Benefits to our clients are:
On receiving an alarm activation the Control Centre operator will follow the procedures agreed with the client. This may be to contact the after hours contact for the site and/or the immediate deployment of Yates Security patrol personnel, advising Police and emergency services: Fire Brigade; Ambulance; Power Authority; or Gas company to attend. The Yates Security foot and mobile patrol units are in constant contact with our Security Control Centre operators via two way radio system. This two way radio system is a priority system operated by Yates Security exclusively.
Security Control Centre Reporting
Our Control Centre always advises our clients of events at the time of the client’s choosing – this could be at the time of the alarm or the next morning. Any events such as break and enters or attempted break and enters generate reports that are transmitted to our clients detailing our operators’ actions and comments and all electronic information transmitted from the alarm system. All reports are electronically time stamped and dated.
Our Control Centre also conducts its own tests such as Late to Open, which is when a site is due to open within a certain timeframe and has not opened within that specified timeframe. Our operators will call the site to check if there is anyone on site, as an opening signal may have been missed or the alarm system may not be functioning for some reason.
All telephone conversations with the Yates Security Control Centre are recorded for legal and quality purposes. This system protects our clients and company against fraud in addition to providing vital information from the "play back" facility. The system also allows management to assess the telephone techniques of its team members.
In the past, the only option for monitoring a home security system was through a telephone line. While this was not a reliable option that many customers still use, there are a growing number of households that, for one reason or the other, are choosing not to install landline telephone service. NSWAlarms recognizes the different needs of it's customers by offering 3 different monitoring options to choose from.
With landline monitoring, the security system in the home communicates to the monitoring facility through the telephone line. This is the original way to monitor a home security system and for most companies, still the only option offered to customers. When the perimeter of any protected zone is breached, an alarm sounds and the security system sends a signal through the phone line to the monitoring facility. If the monitoring facility determines that there is an emergency, the local authorities are contacted.
GSM - offers an incredible high level of security and reliability, at at fraction of the cost of Securitel or Direct Line. In fact if a phone line is cut, alarm signals will still be received at the monitoring centre, unlike Securitel or Direct Line.
Each year, monitoring centres and installers face more and more challengers, cut phone lines, regulations, false alarms, increasing crime, the delayed response time to alarm calls, etc. You can connect a GSM Unit to almost any existing Alarm Dialler and protection starts immediately.
Monitoring Systems are monitoring devices that use GPRS network to create reports of the security systems and send it to the monitoring centre. In this method, telephone lines are not used, thereby reducing the cost of expensive phone calls each time a report is delivered. These systems are polled every ninety seconds and if a poll is missed, alerts are sent to the operator in the control room. These devices use Optus or Telstra Networks to send reports to the monitoring system. Permaconn GPRS Monitoring devices are ideal for insurance companies because of their cost effective transmission with the GSM service.
